DD Charity

At DD Hammocks, we’re passionate about giving everyone the chance to enjoy the outdoors, regardless of age, background, or circumstances. Since late 2021 we have produced special Charity Edition DD Hammocks and Tarps. These products are donated regularly to organisations who help people in need to experience the benefits of the great outdoors, whilst relying on charitable donations themselves.

From small local initiatives to larger bodies dedicated to helping people across the globe, we’re always open to new connections. If you are part of, or know of a group we could help: fill in the contact form at the bottom of this page and we’ll get back to you.

Previous charitable donations:

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we donated £1,250 from our seconds sale to Medicins Sans Frontieres, to help fight the spread of the disease as well as support relief efforts in the aftermath of the Beirut explosion, alongside other incredible work in Central Africa & Yemen.

£400 was also donated to NHS Charities Together, helping to support the hard-working frontline staff during the height of the pandemic.

We have also supported environmental charities, including the RSPB for the “Get Nature Back on Track” appeal alongside sending hammocks & tarps to rangers in the Gola rainforest in Sierra Leone. We have also worked with Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust, donating proceeds from our Christmas Calendars.

Through the years we have provided hammocks and tarps for raffle prizes to a number of people / charities raising money for good causes such as local foodbanks.

Applying for Donations

Our slogan is 'Explore the outdoors' - while we have previously made preference to helping those directly who face barriers to do this, such as children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds, we are happy to consider equipment donations to any other deserving causes from those who can show they have already received a good level of sponsorship/raised funds for something very worthwhile. Please note that we do get many requests for personal sponsorship and gear donation for individual trips. Whilst these do sound amazing, we are sorry that we cannot sponsor you in these instances.
