DD Charity Roundup 2025

Throughout 2025 we have continued our DD Charity initiative; donating special Charity Edition hammocks & tarps to charities on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean! Some of the below we have covered in greater depth earlier in 2025, and some we will be checking back in with in the months and weeks to come.

For now, let's take a brief look at the inspiring organisations that we have worked with in 2025:

Cae Rhug Holistic Farm

"Cae Rhug Holistic Farm is an organically-managed, not-for-profit Social Enterprise. Adhering to the permaculture principles of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share, we deliver nature-based interventions that create positive change through immersion in high quality nature space. Curious by Nature London CIC

Curious by Nature is a grassroots community organisation bringing outdoor learning and nature connection to local children and families in East London. Through their weekly Forest School sessions, held across three locations, they offer free and low-cost access to green spaces, encouraging young people to care for the natural world around them

Elemental Adventures

Based in Wales and led by Nick, a veteran of the RAF, Elemental Adventures delivers a wide range of activities focused on health, wellbeing, and building community through the outdoors. From forest school and bushcraft to mindfulness, storytelling, nature-based crafts; and even woodland management volunteering, their sessions are all about fostering curiosity, confidence, and connection.

“We believe that coming together and immersing ourselves in natural environments encourages a sense of curiosity, confidence, and wonder” says Nick.

OaKley ASN

OaKley’s mission is to enhance the lives of children and young people with Additional Support Needs (ASN) in Aberdeenshire. Through the provision of a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment, OaKley aims to offer a variety of educational and recreational activities.

"We plan to run regular outdoor sessions at the Oakley site as well as off site in a couple of locations, so the tarps will be used often for shelter building and the hammocks will provide calm relaxing spaces for children during these sessions." - Kate at OaKley

Cambridge Woodcraft Folk

"Cambridge Woodcraft Folk is a movement for children and young people, open to everyone from birth to adult. Woodcraft Folk offers a place where children will grow in confidence, learn about the world and start to understand how to value our planet and each other. We believe that no one should not attend our camps because of financial issues and have supported people from a wide range of backgrounds, including low income families, children with neurodiversity and a variety of ethnic backgrounds" - Stephen at Cambridge Woodcraft Folk

Camp SkyWild

"Camp SkyWild is an overnight summer camp in southeast Michigan for kids with autism and their neurotypical siblings. We make lots of special accommodations in our program to meet the developmental and medical differences of our campers. We are dreaming up a Hammock Village for these kids who love the pressure and wraparound experience of lying in a hammock" – Kristin at Camp SkyWild
