We often receive enquires and orders from those in the British Armed Forces (and occasionally from those in other countries). We offer special deals to those in the Armed Forces plus extra discounts for large, group or squadron orders. Please contact us for further information.

DD Hammocks combined with our tarps offer lightweight, compact, quick and easy to set-up sleeping solutions which can be used in many environments around the world. Our Frontline Hammock is a great jungle hammock (its very breathable and has a built on mosquito net) and its popular with people on jungle training exercises. The Travel Hammock also with a mosquito net has a waterproof base so can be set-up on wet ground as a basic bivi if required. The Travel Hammock is more suited to colder climates as its base layers are not as breathable due to being waterproof.

Both Frontline and Travel Hammocks have zips either side of the mosquito net which allows you to exit the hammock on either side quickly (this was something a number of people in the Armed Forces requested when discussing an army hammock). Both the hammocks have other features too including a double layer base which can be used to insert a foam pad, thermarest etc for insulation in cold weather (the double layers also prevent mosquito bites from below), small internal pockets at either end and loops inside at either end to hang a torch, glasses etc from or a line can be tied between them to hang small objects on.

Over the last few years DD Hammocks have been used by those in the Armed Forces (including British, American and Dutch) in the following locations (and probably a lot more locations we don't know about!) -

Afghanistan
Aboard Royal Navy ships in the Gulf
Belize
Brunei
Iraq
Amazon Rainforest
Cyprus
Germany
As well as, of course, within the UK

If you're in the Armed Forces and have used your hammock in a location not mentioned above we'd be interested to hear.
