DD Charity Update - February 2023

It's February, the month of love and appreciation! And what better way to spread the love than working in tandem with two great local charities to bring the joy of the outdoors to those in need?
This month we firstly meet Barry Curley of The Ulverston Canoe Club, who's volunteers work to create oppertunities for young people and those from less dvantageous backgrounds to take part in getting outdoors. Secondly we catch up with Good News Brighton, an organisation that works within Moulsecoomb to get folks from deprived areas into wild camping areas to help heal their mental health and wellbeing.

For the first DD Charity Blog of 2023, we kick off the New Year by shining the spotlight on the work of our two January Charity partners.
We catch up with Mark Cropley of Wellderness CIC to examine the work of this non-profit, community interest company that brings people together in the wild.
We also take a look at the ethos of our second charity partner Free To Be Kids UK; a London based charity that helps children of all ages and backgrounds enjoy nature.

DD Charity Update - November 2022

November is the month of frosty mornings, fireworks and long nights curled up in your hammock - but just because winter is on the way doesn't mean that the outdoors can't be explored!
This month we've teamed up with The Wellness Cafe and Bushkraft Forest School CIC; two organisations dedicated to helping those in the community improve their mental health and wellbeing through the power of nature and great company!

This month we catch up with The Boathouse Youth; Blackpool's leading youth charity that works tirelessly to help young people get out, enjoy the outdoors and get involved within their local community, all while developing essential life skills.

Kent Wildlife Trust is a conservation charity based in the UK with a vision for a better, greener future and works to get those of all ages involved in taking care of the world around us.

This month we catch up with The Learning Center; a forest school for children and young people, based in Pennsylvania USA, who's goal is to encourage strong childhood development using bushcraft and nature.

For the month of May we have partnered with Damien Isherwood and the Curtis Palmer Program as part of the Pilgrim Bandits Charity, as well as Dose of Nature, an organisation dedicated to improve the mental wellbeing of those in need through engagement with the natural world.
