HAMMOCK SUSPENSION
There are many different options for setting up your hammock, too many to show them all on this page. We have included some of our favourites here for those who want to try something new. Suspension can be personalised to suit your own preferences and all the methods on this page are open to modification but please remember when trying out a new method always be careful getting into and out of the hammock. Method 1: DD stock webbing: this is a very easy option for setting up your hammock and when you buy a hammock everything you need to get hanging is included. Simply wrap the supplied webbing round the trees and tie off with a falconers or bow knot. Can be modified to include karabiners. Requires: - no additional gear required, only what comes with all our hammocks as standard. Method 2: Whoopie slings with karabiners and tree huggers: a lighter and very quick method for setting up and adjusting your hang. We sell everything you need for this method in one package. Simply re-thread your hammock with the whoopie slings (only needs to be done the first time), wrap the tree hugger round the tree and pass one loop through the other. Clip one karabiner at each end from the tree hugger to the whoopie sling then adjust the tension using the whoopie slings' loose end. No knots required and adjustment could not be easier with this method. Requires: - 1 x set of whoopie slings - 1 x pair of karabiners (either aluminium or soft shackle) - 1 x pair of tree huggers Method 3: Hammock rings with karabiners and tree huggers: another quick method for adjusting your hang. For this method there are again no knots required. Attach two rings to each karabiner (1 karabiner at each end). Pass the tree hugger around the tree and thread one loop through the other. Clip the karabiner to the free loop. Using the line from the hammock, pass it firstly through both rings from left to right. Then bring it round the front of the rings to the left hand one and pass it through only the first ring this time, below the original line, and then through the gap between the rings. Pulling on the end of the line will adjust the tension while any force from the other end of the line will prevent it from slipping back. Tie off with a quick release knot at the rings once the correct tension has been reached. Requires: - 4 x hammock rings - 1 x Pair of karabiners (either aluminium or soft shackle) - 1 x Pair of tree huggers - Webbing (either DD stock webbing, or other) |
