More About Our Products:

We now have a range of four hammocks designed for camping. Our Scout Hammock is ideal for Scouts, kids or those looking for a very basic hammock. Our Camping, Travel and Frontline Hammocks are great for those camping, involved in a wide range of outdoor pursuits, the army, or even for just relaxing in the garden! If you will be camping in midge affected areas (Scotland!) we recommend the DD Travel or Frontline Hammock due to the fine mosquito netting which keeps out ALL insects. We guarantee that you will not go back to sleeping in a tent after trying one of our hammocks! DD hammocks are designed to be almost impossible to tip over once inside (even if you try to!).

DD Camping Hammock

Our original hammock, now with a number of improvements. Suitable for those up to 6ft 5" and 150kg. Made from extremely tough nylon, it is quick drying and equally useable in tropical climates as it is breathable. A unique feature of this hammock is the fact that you have the option to completely enclose yourself inside it (like a cocoon), keeping you warm (can accommodate a sleeping bag if needed) and keeping out the wind and insects. It now features a double-sided zipped entrance. Another use for the two layers is to put a thermarest or pad between them for cold weather camping. With the zip closed the thermarest will stay in place. You then lie on top of the second layer with a sleeping bag/ blanket over you.

DD Travel Hammock

Material: Polyester with PU 3000mm coating + fine mesh mosquito netting.

A little about the DD Travel Hammock for those who have not seen one before:

The DD Travel Hammock is a two layer hammock, which means there are two layers below you when lying in it normally and the mosquito net above you. The reason for two layers is that if you are camping in cold weather you can put a thermarest/ pad between the layers which provides good insulation. Two layers also mean the hammock is stronger. To enter the hammock there is a zip which runs along one side of the hammock between the top layer of polyester and the mosquito net - there are two double sided zippers for easy entry/ exit of hammock. The hammock comes ready to use with 5m of webbing/ rope attached at either end (5m is plenty of webbing for most people and some people prefer to shorten this). The mosquito net is supported by elastic cord, supplied. You also have the option of lying out in the open when using this hammock by setting it up with the mosquito net underneath (please see Tips - set-up page for further info).

New Features:

The latest version of our Travel Hammock has a few new features. The big change is the hammock material is now waterproof so if required (no trees, rocks, posts to support the hammock) it can be used on wet ground as a basic bivi/ tent. Using hiking poles or 3ft sticks the mosquito net can still be supported above the hammock (please see gallery pictures).

The other new features are velcro patches between the two layers which help keep a thermarest/ pad in place (useful for cold weather camping) and also two small internal pockets, great for storing your torch, phone etc.

Under the mosquito net there are five loops at either end from which you can hang a torch to read from (or you can tie a cord from end to end to hold any lightweight objects.

This hammock is suitable for those up to 150kg and 6ft 6"

DD Tarp

Spec:

Colour: Olive green
Size: 3m x 3m or 10ft x 10ft
Weight: 650g (not including pegs)
Material: Polyester with PU 3000mm coating. All seams are taped.
Attachment points: 19
Includes: 4 x 2m guy lines, 4 pegs and a small stuff sack.

The new DD Tarp is a tough, versatile and extremely lightweight Tarp suitable for many purposes. At 3m x 3m it is the ideal size for use with our hammocks. It provides plenty of shelter over the hammock ensuring you (and your hammock) stay dry and there is also enough cover for storing your gear, cooking etc. If the weather is extreme (driving rain etc) the Tarp can be set-up on the diagonal to get the maximum cover over either end of your hammock. We also suggest setting the tarp up lower down/ closer to the hammock in bad weather.

Complete with 19 attachment points (all strong, reinforced loops) there are many ways in which the DD Tarp can be set-up (please see gallery pictures for some examples). There is a loop in each corner, 3 along each side, and 3 on the top of the tarp which can a ridge line can be passed through, to support the tarp. Having the ridge line running above the tarp means no water will get under the tarp (by running down the ridgeline) as it would if the ridgeline was below the tarp.

DD Sleeper

Our Sleeping bag liner is probably the lightest, most compact you will find. It Weighs only 150g and can be compressed to the size of an orange! Made from silk it is very comfy and can be used on its own when travelling in hot climates or used in conjunction with a sleeping bag in colder climates. It is very easy to wash and dries extremely quickly (please note we recommend you wash it on its own the first time as colour might run slightly)

Uses:
- Used inside your sleeping bag to add warmth.
- Used inside your sleeping bag to save you washing your sleeping bag - simply wash the liner (much easier than washing a sleeping bag plus it dries very quickly)
- Great for backpacking in hostels where they require you have a sleeping bag liner (alot of European hostels).
- Also great for backpacking in tropical countries where the beds may have bed bugs/ dirty sheets.

We try our best to keep our carbon footprint as low as we can. One mistake we made was buying plastic bags several years ago - you may receive your order in one of these bags but please note we have no intention to buy new ones once the ones in stock are all gone.
